Its really over?

Where did 2008 go?

Its been a year of ups and downs... but looking back as much as it is easy to dwell on all the bad - it is refreshing to know that so much good has come to our lives this year...

Wishing you all a very Happy Happy New Year and hoping that 2009 brings us all the clean slate we deserve!

Craptastic Weather and a Romantic Night Out

I had high hopes for this weekend and it looks like Mother Nature is shooting them to hell. I was hoping to spend a day in the city with The Mr. tomorrow, but walking around in the cold rain isn't high on my list of priorities. Boo. Whatever.

Tomorrow we have dinner reservations at one of our favorite restaurants. We have both been through a lot lately and I thought a night out would be good for both of us. Only after I made the reservation did I realize what the date was. Tomorrow marks 6 months since we got hitched (hmmm, maybe I should work on that whole name change thing...). So what started out as just an evening on the town, has now become a toast to six months of marriage.

So, cheers to us love... may we always find joy in each others hearts and cherish the little things - like 6 month anniversarys. I love you :)

Its that time of year again...

Its that time of year again... time to reflect. The time when we realize that the year is quickly approaching its end. We scramble to tie up loose ends and take care of un-finished business. We stress over the impending holidays and whether or not the gifts we are purchasing are going to be appreciated by their recipients. Lines are longer, the weather is colder, and tempers are on much shorter fuses...

What happened to the wide-eyed kids we used to be? When did the twinkle fade from our eyes?

Let us all remember the little things we can be thankful for this holiday season. Lets try to embrace our inner six-year-old and bring joy back to our otherwise gloomy days.

Remember to laugh...
Remember to appreciate your loved ones...
And most of all, remember to be thankful...

Have a Safe - Healthy - and Happy Thanksgiving :)

Who am I?...

So... I guess its time for the who am I portion... here goes.
I am a twenty-something newlywed, married to my love in June after nine short years of dating ;) We have the most adorable dog that my parents have custody of (lol, story for another day...) My family are my best friends and my best friends are my family... I would be blessed to have any single one of them in my life, but to have the love of all of them is an honor.

I understand the power of a good lip gloss. I love wearing sweats, but love any opportunity to get all dolled up. I know that the right pair of heels can turn any night into an adventure. I listen to Led Zeppelin and Britney Spears, and everything in between. I avoid being the center of attention - my confidence is tragic. Sarcasm flows naturally. My style is my own... Its not about fame and fortune - it's about being true to myself. I love photographs, but hate having my picture taken. I am queen of the "dot dot dot" and use smileys and punctuation more than I probably should. I can quote the most random things and have a quote stored in my vaults for just about every situation. I am often underestimated.

I have been told that fairtales are for the weak and that reality is for the strong - I couldn't disagree more - without dreams and fairtales, your reality is lifeless and boring. I've learned that you really should live for the moment and that what goes around truely does come around... everything happens for a reason. I am a work in progress and not afraid to say so. I don't regret things from the past - rather I have learned from those moments and use them to make me a better person.

I am living out this crazy world one day at a time... embracing my past, savouring the now, and letting destiny take its course...

To blog or not to blog seems to be the question tossed amongst people my age lately. Do I need a platform on which to speak my mind about politics, world peace, or who is showing the most wearable line for 09?... well no, I really don't... but what the hell - why not give it a whirl (besides, all the cool kids are doing it). So today I make my grand entrance into the wonderful blogging world. Where will the journey take me? Well, I'm not really sure... but its nice to have a place to put my thoughts and ride out the wave...

Stay tuned kids ;)
